The local government of San Fernando, via its City Health Office (CHO), on Tuesday, July 13, partnered with business conglomerate LausGroup of Companies for the vaccination of A1 to A4 priority groups.
The mass jabbing saw some 2,500 Fernandinos — the biggest number vaccinated in a day in the City of San Fernando so far — receiving their second doses of Sinovac and Pfizer vaccines at the LausGroup Event Centre, the largest and most modern multi-events venue in Central Luzon located at the LausGroup Complex along Jose Abad Santos Avenue.
National Immunization Program Manager Dr. Iris Rose Muñoz said they targeted to administer 1,679 Sinovac and 918 Pfizer vaccines for the second doses of the A1 to A4 priority groups only, and did not allow walk-ins in the vaccination site to prevent delays and conflicts in the inoculation process.
In the meantime, the distribution of the first dose vaccines is still on hold and will only resume once the supply from the Department of Health is received by the third week of July this year, the CHO announced.
Meanwhile, Mayor Edwin Santiago extended his gratitude to the LausGroup and all other public and private companies, hospitals, organizations, and individuals who continue to support and help in the vaccination program of the city. (JTD/With CSF-CIO)
