Multi-awarded radio station, RW 95.1 FM, bagged the Best Provincial FM Station Nationwide in the 27th Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Golden Dove Awards held at the Star Theater, Star City Compound, Pasay City last July 23, 2019.The most-listened-to FM station in the 2018 Kantar Media Radio Studies, RW 95.1 FM, bested other radio stations such as Radyo Natin Network (Manila Broadcasting Company / Radyo Natin Corporation-Nationwide) and DXBT FM (Monster Radio BT 99.5 / Audiovisual Communicators Inc. – Davao).
RW 95.1 FM’s “Earth Talk Central Luzon” also won the “Golden Dove” for Best Provincial Public Affairs Program.
Earth Talk, co-produced by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region 3, is a one hour radio show that tackles environmental issues, global warming awareness and earth’s rehabilitation programs.
On the other hand, “Da Bes Ka Nanay” (A Mother’s Day Plug) was among the finalists for the Best Radio Station Promotional Material category.
These awards are not the firsts that RW 95.1 FM came up on stage for in the “Golden Dove”. The station’s first Golden Dove award was given in 2007 when it was adjudged as The Best FM Station in the Philippines, outshining both provincial and Metro Manila stations.
The station also received the Best Provincial FM Station award in 2012 and 2016.
In her thank you speech, Niña Carla M. Vitug, a.k.a. “DJ Tyra”, Senior Manager for Programming and Production Department, dedicated the award to the late Liberato “Levy” P. Laus.
Laus, who died in a helicopter crash several weeks ago, established Radioworld Broadcasting Corporation’s RW 95.1 FM in 1995 to guide Kapampangans through the lahar devastation in the province.
Vitug along with “Talakayan Ngayon” anchor Albert Lacanlale, Programming Manager Aubrey “DJ Alex” Sembrano, Production Manager Aldhen “DJ Kian” Laxamana, News & Public Affairs Assistant Christine Joy “DJ Cassie” Pineda and Sales Manager Chiqui S. Cacal represented the station in the awards night.
Vitug thanked all their listeners and advertisers and swore to continue to strive for excellence and the legacy that Laus had started.
