CLTV36 is Metro Central Luzon’s first and only regional television station. A subsidiary of the LausGroup of Companies, CLTV36 was launched on March 19, 2007. Its10,000-watt transmitter is located at the Clark Freeport Zone and its studios are located in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga. As one of the youngest terrestrial television stations in the Philippines, it was created when Philippine Congress granted a franchise under Republic Act No. 8219 on September 12, 1997 and duly licensed by the NTC on January 10, 2007.
CLTV36, from its inception, was designed to serve the region through its locally-oriented news and public affairs programs. Aside from being the three-time KBP Golden Dove Awardee for Best TV Station (Provincial), CLTV36 is also the region’s most watched and most trusted source of news, infotainment, and entertainment, airing on free-to-air television and broadcasting over Pampanga, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija and Tarlac, up to Pangasinan in the north and Rizal and Cavite in the south, including Metro Manila.
With award-winning shows such as Balitang CL and So to Speak, CLTV36 empowers its viewers and provides a platform by which the community can articulate their aspirations and join discourses that shape the nation. In 2012, it introduced new entertainment program offerings such as the reality talent search Star Mill. The show discovers stars from every part of the region and makes their dreams of stardom come true. This year CLTV36 will launch a new entertainment variety program, Tara Let’s with fun competitions for the whole family.
From the beginning, CLTV36 has been at the forefront of major events in the region such as the muchawaited annual Giant Lantern Festival of the City of San Fernando, Pampanga. During the elections, audiences also tune in to CLTV36 for its extensive coverage of the local elections, and the station has proven its indispensability to the people during disaster coverages.
True to its commitment to serve the community and the region, CLTV36 has also initiated various activities, taking its outreach efforts beyond the broadcast studios. Responsive to the needs of the people, CLTV36 launched Lingap ng Central Luzon to provide aid to those in need, conducting relief operations for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.
